When for KING & COUNTRY wrote World on Fire, it wasn’t just about creating another song. It was about awakening something deep inside.
During a trip to Oxford, Joel and Luke Smallbone visited a small cobblestone street marked by an X. They learned it was where two men, Hugh Latimer and Nicholas Ridley, were burned for their faith. Just before the flames rose, Latimer turned to Ridley and said, “Mr. Ridley, I pray today by the grace of God that this candle, it is lit, shall never go out.”
Those words stayed with Luke. They became the heartbeat of the song. Like the children’s tune This Little Light of Mine, it reminds us that faith isn’t meant to stay small or quiet. It’s meant to shine and spread.
Luke shared that revival doesn’t begin with a big event or a church leader. It starts within you. When your heart catches fire, it can touch your family, your community, your city, and even your nation.
So maybe the question for all of us is this: Is there a revival burning in your heart?
